Well, it's homework time! We were so busy Tinikling last week that we didn't have a chance to do anything from the workbook, so let's do a couple of pages for our homework. I'm going to ask you to do some science. Try pages 104 and 105.
Page 105 has some interesting questions -- numbers 11 through 15. Your job is to figure out the connection between the words in the problem. Take a look at this:
Drink (A) is to milk (B) like eat (C) is to sandwich (D).
In this sentence, A and B are connected in the same way that C and D are connected. The action word that goes with "milk" is "drink," and the action word that goes with "sandwich" is "eat." Here's another one:
Smile (A) is to frown (B) like sit (C) is to stand (D).
A and B in this one are opposite to each other. C and D are ALSO opposite to each other. So on page 105 you have to finish the sentence with the best word! Good luck!
And just for fun, when you have finished pages 104 and 105, see if you can write one more in your notebook. Here's one:
Richie is to Jojo like Angus is to _____________ (Who?!)
Now, try to write your own! Use your imagination...
One more thing... I heard that a couple of boys in the class are excited about how fast Christie can type. YOU can learn how to type fast, too!! Sophie and I found this cool website with some typing games that are fun AND that can teach you how to type. Check this out:

See if you can do the "home row" on Spacebar Invaders!
See you Saturday!

HOMEWORK at last!
Hi everybody! It's already THURSDAY! Where did the week go?
I have something a little different for you for this week's homework. Let's do a little MATH!
First, grab your notebook and start using your imagination. I'd like you to write your own word problem, just like the ones we did on page 13 in our workbook. You can make an addition problem or a subtraction problem (OR BOTH!). **DON'T write the answer to your problem, ok?
-----------------------------
Here is an example problem that I made:
Angus was planning a party. He decided to serve rice balls at the party, so he made 27 of them. Then he went to take a shower. While Angus was in the shower, Kyle came home and saw a lot of delicious rice balls on the table! He was so hungry that he ate 15 of them. How many rice balls were left?
-----------------------------
After you have finished writing your word problem (and ONLY after you have finished!), go to this website:
http://www.mathflashcardssoftware.info/games/mathgame/
You can choose the kind of game that you want to play. I think
Addition with values to 100 - UNTIMED
is a good place to start and get some practice. Then, when you are used to doing the game, go back and try
Addition with values to 100 - TIMED
When you get tired of that, try
Subtraction with values to 100 - UNTIMED
and then, of course, you can do
Subtraction with values to 100 - TIMED
See how many problems you can do in one minute!!
See you on Saturday!

1. What character did you choose?
2. What did you name the kingdom?
3. What did you name the riddle master?
4. What riddle did you solve?
5. What treasure did your character find at the end?
See you on Saturday!!

Pictures from last time
Homework!!
Hi, Kidz and Parents!
Sorry I have been absent from the blog for a long time. Golden Week and work kept me busy! So let's get together on Saturday for some more studying. YAY!
For your homework, let's do some writing. In your notebook, write 4 or 5 sentences about your Golden Week holiday. Write about where you went and what you did. Finally, draw a picture of one fun thing that you did during Golden Week.
I'm also thinking about a possible field trip plan for after lunch on the 12th or 19th. I'll tell you more when I have it all worked out!!
See you soon -
